Single Origin coffee is best understood if we start from where it all began, its origin. A single origin coffee is defined by its provenance, the beginning of its existence, put simply it can be traced back to a single farm, farmer, cooperative or washing station. We can then further delve into the specific variety, washing and drying process.
As consumers it is easy to think of all coffee as “just” coffee, however as this Single Origin Discovery Series will demonstrate each coffees origin offers unique individuality. As a fruit, the coffees terroir or environment has a large impact on its flavour, the favoured harvesting and processing method of the region in which the coffee grows further affects this.
